Celebrating womens day, making a herat shape post for IWD 2024 Theme 'Inspire Inclusion.

Every March 8th, the globe comes together to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD). An occasion devoted to acknowledging women’s achievements in social, economic, cultural, and political spheres.

This year’s campaign theme, “Inspire Inclusion,” carries a profound message that transcends merely a day of festivity. It serves as a rallying call. Urging us to foster a world where every woman, irrespective of her background. Identity, or situation, feels appreciated, empowered, and actively involved in all aspects of society.

Let’s delve deeper into the theme of International Women’s Day 2024 – “Inspire Inclusion”. And understand its significance, relevance, and its potential to promote women’s empowerment.

What does “Inspire Inclusion” mean?

In the context of International Women’s Day 2024, “inclusion” signifies the ongoing effort to create a society where all women. Regardless of their background, identity, or experiences, feel valued, respected and empowered to fully participate in every facet of life. This includes:

  • Equal access to opportunities and resources:

This encompasses education, employment, healthcare, political participation, and other areas where women may encounter systemic obstacles.

  • Representation and involvement in decision-making:

Ensuring women have a voice and a seat at the table in shaping policies and initiatives that affect their lives.

  • Embracing diversity:

Acknowledging and appreciating the unique experiences, perspectives, and contributions of women from diverse backgrounds. Including various cultures, ethnicities, abilities, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities.

As an experienced virtual assistant, I’ve seen firsthand the transformative power of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. It’s not just about ticking boxes; it’s about fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and heard.

Studies consistently show that diverse teams outperform homogenous ones. Deloitte’s research indicates that companies with diverse teams experience 2.3 times higher cash flow per employee. Moreover, Gartner’s findings highlight that inclusive teams can enhance performance by up to 30% in high-diversity settings.

However, despite these clear benefits, there’s still work to be done. Shockingly, only 40% of employees feel that their managers truly cultivate an inclusive atmosphere. This exclusion isn’t just detrimental to individuals; it stifles productivity and innovation. By embracing diversity and inclusion, we not only tap into a broader range of perspectives but also unleash the full potential of our teams. It’s time to bridge this gap and create environments where everyone can thrive.

Celebrating women's day 2024, making a heart shape post.

As a Virtual Assistant living from the Philippines

I’ve encountered the unique challenges and advantages of working remotely. Time zones can be a double-edged sword especially for clients that are based in the USA. On one hand, being halfway across the world means I can handle tasks while you rest. Ensuring everything’s set when you begin your day. It’s like having a diligent ally, keeping your eCommerce operations running smoothly day and night.

However, there’s a downside to this time difference. Some clients forget that virtual assistants, like myself, aren’t machines. We’re real people with limits and needs, including rest. Expecting us to work non-stop can lead to burnout, affecting our productivity and well-being. Recognizing and respecting our working hours is crucial for maintaining a balanced and effective working relationship.

I’ve encountered the daily struggle of managing time and tasks efficiently. Balancing multiple clients, projects, and personal commitments can be overwhelming. To prevent stress and burnout, I’ve learned to prioritize tasks, set achievable goals, and keep track of my time meticulously.

Using tools like calendars, to-do lists, and time-tracking apps has been instrumental in organizing my schedule and maintaining focus. Additionally, I’ve realized the importance of taking regular breaks, setting boundaries with clients, and striking a healthy work-life balance.

By implementing these strategies, I’ve been able to navigate the challenges of being a virtual assistant effectively, ensuring that I deliver high-quality work while safeguarding my well-being.

Inspiring inclusion as a Virtual Assistant working from home requires intentional efforts to create an environment where all individuals feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute.

Inspire Inclusion” isn’t just a theme

It’s a call to action. By actively promoting inclusiveness, we can empower women, unleash their potential, and create a better future for all.

Let’s welcome the strength of different viewpoints and establish a world where every woman feels appreciated, listened to, and empowered to succeed.
