Hi, My name is Gertie. 

I’m the newest member of the Fempire HQ Team. I am a Filipino Virtual Assistant from the Davao City, Philippines. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management within Business Administration. For nearly three years, I’ve served as an Administrative Virtual Assistant. Expert in providing administrative support, social media management, graphic designing, digital marketing, and customer service to clients across different industries. 

While in college, I was a part-time Restaurant Team Member at KFC. This role honed my customer service, teamwork, time management, and communication abilities. It was a fulfilling experience that pushed me out of my shy comfort zone.

After college, it took 2-3 months to get my first job as a team member in a bakery shop. I spent a year there, followed by a stint as a Customer Service Representative at a call center company in 2014. Later, I became a Management Trainee at a fast-food restaurant for 6 months, and eventually, a 2nd Assistant Manager for 3 years. In 2018, I started working in a convention center company up until 2020. When the pandemic started to get worse and forced lockdowns all over the Philippines. That’s when the Hospitality Industry got affected and shut down all establishments, restaurants, and hotels due to forced lockdown. The company that I am working for was forced to cut down their employees and lost my job. But, as the type of person who always thinks positive mindset. I discovered the new industry called “Digital Marketing and Virtual Assistant Jobs online”.

Becoming a Virtual Assistant

In 2020, I got hired as a Digital Marketing VirtuaI Assistant at an Australian-based company. I got my first client from Queensland, she has a business teaching Dyslexic children. Then work with an American client and another Australian client based in Melbourne and also have many freelancing jobs using Upwork for project-based work.  

In my previous roles, I’ve worked with clients in industries such as e-commerce, real estate, and healthcare. I’ve helped my clients with tasks such as scheduling appointments, graphic designing, managing their social media accounts, creating online courses, Managing CRM, and overseeing projects from start to finish.

One of the things I love about being a Virtual Assistant is the flexibility it offers. I’m able to work from anywhere with an internet connection, which means I can travel and still be available to my clients. I’m also able to tailor my schedule to meet the needs of each client.

I first discover Fempire International on Linkedin and then went to their website to check their email address where I can send my resume and apply as a Virtual Assistant. Fempire’s vision and mission, which empower women to succeed in their businesses and become leaders, amazed me.

More About Me

In my free time, I enjoy cooking Filipino dishes, singing karaoke with friends and family, traveling, playing bowling or badminton, and spending time with my family. I also like to read novels books and go to the beach to eat barbeque. I’m also passionate about decorating small spaces and photography.

I am thrilled to work with Marnie, Nicole, and the entire Fempire team. I am eager to learn, and contribute my own unique perspective and skills, and work towards the Fempire’s mission.
